“For this year, our collection is more commercial. Our brand was known as using dark color but this collection we want to bring out the light in darkness where we introduced some lighter color fabric such as white and pink instead of just dark color”, said Sean Loh from Malaysia, the co-founder of Sean & Sheila, after the runway show.
Sheila from Indonesia, the other co-founder of Sean & Sheila said that this year’s collection is more simplified and wearable compared to last year.
“We have a few pieces that we are targeting to young adults from 25 years old to 35 as well as some pieces for mothers above 35 years old”, said Sheila. Sean & Sheila is not only a ready-to-wear fashion label merely targeting selected groups, but varies from time to time fulfilling the needs of society as well.

Sean and Sheila are both concerned about good quality more than quantity for their pieces, “as a sign of returning to the community, instead of taking advantage and hiring labors, we are actually hiring those who are in need, we have them working in-house and train them by ourselves”, Sean and Sheila explained the reason of why their pieces are always strictly limited.
The ready-to-wear runway show was conceptualized in 2013 as a B2C platform for Malaysian designers to showcase their Ready-to-Wear Collections and ultimately highlight the strength and creativity of the Malaysia’s Fashion Industry to local and international customers. Last year, the Fashion Week brought more than 100,000 people together over 5 days at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to witness more than 80 Local Designers’ Collections.
